Better environment
Ausnutria is committed to environmental protection and the preservation of resources for future generations. We aim to adopt sustainable business practices and minimize the environmental impact of our upstream operations and associated production procedures. To fulfill our commitment to environmental sustainability, we also strive to improve energy and water efficiency, manage emissions and water discharge and furthermore reduce material consumption and waste generation.
Environmental focus areas
Recognizing the importance of environmental responsibility, Ausnutria implements a comprehensive sustainability strategy that tackles various crucial aspects. This includes managing energy and water use, minimizing and responsibly managing waste, developing eco-friendly packaging materials and minimizing our carbon footprint. We are also committed to future-proof dairy farming and support our affiliated dairy farmers in making their business more sustainable, with animal welfare being a high priority. This multi-faceted approach ensures a more sustainable future for both the environment and Ausnutria’s business.
Our environmental goal
30% CO2 emission reduction in 2027*
In order to gradually achieve a net climate-neutral dairy production by 2050 at the latest, we aim to achieve a 30% CO2 emission reduction in 2027 compared to 2022. We do this, among other things, by implementing more sustainable technologies and organizing our production processes as efficiently as possible.
* w.r.t. 2022
This new factory will soon guarantee a completely gas-fee production process for the production of baby and infant food formula and will run completely CO2 and nitrogen emission free.
Ausnutria has grown rapidly in recent years and this has had a significant impact on the consumption of packaging materials, especially with multiple locations. To optimize this and reduce material consumption, we have started adapting the pallet packaging.
A major project started in 2021, which has now been completed. The investment in a new centralized CIP set. CIP, or Cleaning in Place, is a technique in which a production installation is automatically cleaned, without the installation being moved or taken apart.
